NO Deal Hoowwiiiie!!

So I'm sad to say that I couldn't find any video clips for you to truly appreciate the only entertaining episode of "Deal or No Deal" ever aired. Let's just say this woman made our family vacation over Christmas all the more memorable and always makes me think of Abby... thank you Shalanda London.

Heroes

Well my mom and Abby were supposed to be up here visiting this weekend but my great-grandpa's health finally caused him to be put in the hospital. My mom and grandma rushed out to El Paso, TX to be with him and my great aunt and get funeral preparations ready. Each day I pray that he will be taken so that he doesn't have to be in pain and so that he can be with his sweetheart...which leads me to what I've been thinking about a lot lately.Grandma Grace and Grandpa Ted were the most loving couple I ever witnessed in my own personal life. With all the recent stories and memories shared about President and Sister Hinckley, I have realized that my great-grandparents are so much like them. My great-grandma passed away two years ago. My grandpa missed her so much. He was truly heart broken and alone without her. He loved to serve her...he would always try to help her walk even when he could barely walk without a cane himself. Of course they would always have their little fights, but they were still so happy with each other. One time when I was about 12 our family was visitng them in Texas and we had to take two cars when we were going out to eat. Arica and I went with grandma and grandpa. A few blocks before the restaurant my grandma starts shouting, "Turn, TURN, you're gonna' miss it Ted!!!" To which grandpa replied, "I'm not going to miss it Grace, I'm turning in up here!" You probably had to be there to see how two 85 year olds yelling at each other could be loving...at the time Arica and I couldn't stop laughing, but I know nothing could change how much they loved each other. I hope that I can have that kind of love in my marriage 50 years from now.

Birthday

Today's birthday was nice and started with a little breakfast in bed. Then I had to study for a while and go take a test.  I came home to 23 balloons and some precious flowers from my husbee.  I got some phone calls from family which are always the best. Then jeremy and I went out to lunch at Mimi's Cafe.  I came home and checked my e-mail, secretly wishing for something entertaining to be inside.  Abby came through with this fancy paint project you see here...she's amazing.

It's official...

The blogging has begun! Also, in case anyone was wondering, it's blizzarding outside and has been for about six hours. Completely unrelated...I wish I had a nicer camera to take some rad pictures with. These are the best my elf will give me...
