The Goods

The coolest stuff that I didn't know existed until I was pregnant:
Baby Au Lait - I first saw my cousin with one of these...they're these awesome nursing covers that allow you to be totally discreet but can still keep an eye on the baby.
Peter Potty - This adjustable training urinal for little boys seems like it would make potty training so much easier and maybe we could try it earlier. The Pee-pee Teepee - No more little boys spraying you when you change their diapers!

The 6 things I'm most grateful for:

1. Jeremy - So I've rambled on about him before, but you're going to hear it again...Jeremy is the hardest worker ever. He knows what it takes to reach his goals in school, so he does it. He knows what it takes to provide for us as a family, so he does it. He gets tired, and he gets sore (cutting concrete), but he doesn't quit. I am so grateful he takes his education so seriously as many of his friends do not. He is a great student, a wonderful husband...and don't even get me started on how wonderful of a father I know he will be very soon. That is just a very small part of why I am grateful for him in my life.

2. My Savior - I could write for days on this one. I feel like I have always had a very firm testimony of my Savior, but different aspects of it are still able to stretch and grow as I go throughout life. Being a girl who grew up without a biological brother but always wanting one, I slowly came to realize that I already have all that I need. Christ has performed amazing acts of love to pay the debt owed to Heavenly Father for my mistakes. He's also taught by example the way to strive to live a higher law to show my love for others and my God. The most powerful aspect of the Atonement for me personally is His ability to comfort me in physical and emotional pain. I am so grateful that I have someone to turn to in my times of need, who can succor me, and can do much more than an earthly brother ever could.

3. My Education -
I don't know if it was just because BYU stressed these three scriptures a lot, but they all touch my heart: D&C 88:118, 96:36, 130:18-19. The glory of God IS intelligence, and it is truly wonderful to learn from the best books so that we can keep that intelligence in the life to come. It's hard for me to tell people the truth, that my college degree so far has done nothing for me in terms of employment, because the truth also is that I am so grateful for what I achieved anyway. I am fond of my time at school because my testimony grew more in a two year period there than it had my whole life before. Some of that is due to #5, but a lot was also due to the amazing religious instruction that I received. I learned to love learning, both secular and spiritual, and it is not something that will end with my degree.

4. My Family - No family is perfect, and mine is no exception...BUT, it is an awesome one. My sisters are my closest friends, and my parents have worked hard to teach us important principles. We were never perfect at family prayer or scripture reading, but we did do it consistently, and I know many LDS families in which that rarely happened. I'm grateful for how my parents taught me and raised us girls, and they have truly set the example for me to follow in my own small family.

5. Trials - It may seem very strange to say I am grateful for hard and trying experiences, but I am. I know that trials are necessary for us to understand who God is. With each circumstance we go through/endure/overcome we learn one characteristic of God...and that is how we learn to become like Him and can one day be sanctified to be gods ourselves. Another reason I have such gratitude for these times ties into my testimony of the Savior. I have had to learn that when I need comfort most, I am often the slowest to remember that someone else has already gone through this same trial for me. With trials I have learned to more quickly turn to the Savior for comfort and understanding, and when I walk through tough times with faith and the Savior at my side, I grow closer to Him.

6. The Wee Babe Inside Me -Expanding our family is something that we have wanted to do since early on in our marriage (hard not to with babies all over the place in a married BYU student ward). It has been a miracle just to find out that I can get pregnant at all, and we have been so lucky to already see and feel this new life. I am grateful to get the opportunity to teach a special spirit so many things, most importantly of all the gospel.

Rainy Disneyland Day

Jeremy's mission friend Kyle came down with his wife's family on a vacation to Disneyland, so we went up to join them yesterday. It poured rain the whole day, but it was still fun! Kyle's wife is pregnant too, so I had a buddy with me for the rides I couldn't go on which was nice.
